Another year has come and gone, and just like the picture, was a bit of a blur. I've been doing my best to get back on my feet financially/professionally, as well as sorting out some familial quirks. Working on my cars, and trying to reconstruct how I live my life is what I've been doing the majority of these last 12 months. Rest assured, LäWhy?, although dormant, is still alive and well, in the creative portion of my brain. 11 is my lucky number, so I'll make sure some of that luck rubs on to my brand. Cheers to you all, here's to a new year full of new experiences and opportunites.

I really wish this was coming out, I'd soooo play it.

Not that you haven't already been subjected to this at some point today, here it is again. Fast Five is likely named after the 5 people who still truly love the franchise, and their reaction time in running out of the test-screen theaters after witnessing yet another Hollywood bastardization of our tuning scene.

Me myself, have saved any go-fast building for the Zetto, and have just converted the daily driver into Low 'N Slow mode.
Only other real plans for this thing are a custom front lip, the rest of the TRD body kit, new spacers, more lowering(!) and skinnier tires to accomodate pushing the wheels out to keep them from ripping fenders. However, I'm also considering refinishing just the front faces of the spokes of my Meisters (leaving the sides black/lip polished, and copying another WORK Wheels finish: Black Clear Blue
Hmm....should I? After this, it's full steam ahead on all things Z.

Life's been random lately

but not as random as this. R.I.P. MJ, you're still the King.

Damn, over a month with no posting. Is this dead? No, just my social/professional life has been. Starting a new job tomorrow, so I should hopefully do this brand/blog right soon enough, Lord knows it's been a long time coming. I'd post some random pics, but seeing as I've managed to be injured multiple times in the last several weeks, as well as having misplaced my Olympus.... soon.

Trippin: Megan Racing

Went by Megan Racing, in the City of Industry, late last week to wrap up test-fitting on their soon-to-be-released Street series coilovers for 99-03 Solaras/92-01 Camrys. They have Naoki & co. in charge of their install/maintenance duties, so I'm in good hands, and in the presence of drift greatness
Taka Aono's infamous Flying 86
Alex Pfeiffer's Xtreme Drift Circuit SC300
The build thread for this thing was epic, the entire chassis was even media blasted/powdercoated candy red before being put back together. Damn...
I posted previously about Naoki's beastly DD J30, but this angle really show how mean the fitment on this thing is. Dirty and all, one of my fave street drift cars.
What ho, a Datsun that I can't even begin to fit in...
WIth an SR20 waiting to be wired/plumbed in?!? Damn this portly stature of mine...

Didn't stick around for too long, since I'll be back in a month or so to get some shorter front springs to get maximum low. However, being in Rowland Heights, I decided to grab a snack that I wouldn't be able to get near home, from Genki Living.
Mmmm, Hiroshima style bacon/yakisoba okonomiyaki. May not be the clearest/most appetizing shot, but best believe it's piff
I get the 'itis all over again just looking at all of this.

A Fair Affair

Okay, so sue me. I actually have multiple posts, but haven't published them. I'm lazy, I admit it. I'm also grinding hard to find better paychecks, so sue me. Hit up the LA County Fair in Pomona opening weekend (last weekend), and proceeded to ruin my so-called diet.

I won't get into too many details, as if you're an LA-area local, you should check it out for yourself. Kid brother here may not look stoked, but he was taken aback by how ginormous his damn corn dog was

Needless, to say, it (and the other heart-stopping treats the GF, kidbro, and I partook of) were (see below)
Yes, it's a real place (stop by if you're around Northridge), and yes, the fair vittles were on point. A bit pricey, but on point.

I would've just done a food porn edition of the Fair, but I'll probably do that on the next visit. I was set on actually checking out the exhibits. There was one on the timeline of technology that was interesting, especially when it comes to photography, printing, and transportation.
                                        Remember Funsavers?

I also ran over to the NHRA Museum, because the car nerd inside me implored me to

New-age General Lee
Intercooler's bigger than the motor

Carbon fiber seeing real use

I8TOKYO, Godzilla reference

Wheelie bars, on a FWD CRX?!?

Not really digging the dragon treatment, but still legendary

I really want a dope wagon with towing capability

More on this later.

Dori Oddity

Milty-boy never did get to do a feature on Naoki's DD drift Infiniti J30, but hopefully it'll happen soon. Drift? J30? Blasphemy you say? Naoki's organization Drift Association/Drift101 has been holding down the US scene since drifting officially reached our shores back in 2001. Does the term "Drift Day" ring a bell? It should. As for the J30, Naoki's always been one to be just that much more unconventional than the rest.

Peep the custom gnarly hydraulic handbrake and 'Boro Reds. Tools of the trade.

The man himself (L) with his creation and buddy Cyrus

Let's get the man a full feature on HF or something Milton!
